Wilson Lui

Wilson is Part-time Lecturer at the Faculty of Law of the University of Hong Kong and PhD Candidate at the Melbourne Law School.


Wilson's publications. These include Choice of Law and Recognition in Asian Family Law (2023), Direct Jurisdiction: Asian Perspectives (2021), two books on arbitration law and practice in Hong Kong, and more than 15 book chapters and journal articles. His monograph Hong Kong Private International Law (2025) is forthcoming.


Wilson's talks and presentations. He is a frequent (invited) speaker at various international conferences and seminars.


Wilson's teaching and service. He designs and teaches courses for undergraduates and postgraduates on private international law, use of language in law, and legal Chinese. He also serves as editor for legal journals and judge for mooting competitions.


Wilson holds a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Linguistics, Philology and Phonetics from the University of Oxford, a Master of Law (LLM) from the University of Cambridge, a Postgraduate Certificate in Laws (PCLL) from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and bachelor’s degrees in Arts and Laws from the University of Hong Kong. He is a Chartered Linguist at the Chartered Institute of Linguists, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb), a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Arbitrators (FHKIArb) and a Fellow of Advance HE (FHEA). 


His research interests cover law, linguistics, higher education, and their connections and interactions, such as private international law (conflict of laws), dispute resolution (especially arbitration), law and language and legal education.

呂致延，香港大學法律學院兼職講師、墨爾本法學院哲學博士生，獲香港大學文學士及法學士、香港中文大學法學專業證書、劍橋大學法學碩士及牛津大學語言、文字及語音學哲學碩士，並為英國特許語言學會特許語言師、英國特許仲裁員協會院士、香港仲裁師協會資深會員及英國高等教育學院院士。

其著作包括 Choice of Law and Recognition in Asian Family Law [亞洲家事法的法律適用及承認] (2023)、Direct Jurisdiction: Asian Perspectives [直接管轄權：亞洲視角] (2021)，以及兩本有關香港仲裁法律及實踐的書籍，並出版書籍章節和期刊論文十餘篇。其專著 Hong Kong Private International Law [香港國際私法] (2025) 即將出版。他亦經常於國際會議發表（或獲邀發表）論文。他開設有關國際私法、法律語言及法用中文的課程，並教授本科生和研究生。他亦擔任法律期刊編輯及模擬法庭比賽評判。他的研究興趣涵蓋法律、語言學、高等教育及三者的相互關係和影響，包括國際私法（衝突法）、爭議解決（尤其是仲裁）、法律與語言、法律教育等。
